Blend of 4chan + Tumblr. Originated in 2010 after 4chan's /b/ board "declared war" on the Tumblr community.
Meanings

A ship, or fictional romantic relationship, of Tumblr and 4chan (respectively personified as a woman with blue hair and a faceless green man).
As subculture scholars have long observed, 4chumblr represents how lateral subcultural antagonisms could be resolved through shared symbolism and counterhegemonic tendencies – or as Figure 2 depicts, a mutual aversion towards the 'normies' of the mainstream. While a childish quarrel at first sight, Operation Overlord was later described in the same vein as Gamergate as 'the direct precursor to the contemporary culture war that spawned our current political situation'.
