1. A place (such as a watering hole) where water is available to local wildlife.
   • Animals in good condition and not subjected to physical stress (such as having to transhume or walk far between pastures and waterpoints) usually suffer considerably less than animals on a poor nutritional level and having to expend much physical energy. 1990, M.
