1. Apparently vitreous; having a vitreous aspect.
   • A very hard, vitreouslike substance, composed of hexagonal prisms, with a common direction at right angles to the dentoenamel junction or line marking the union of the enamel and dentin. 1917, Hospital Corps Quarterly, volumes 3-11, page 7:
