1. A female violator.
   • Rain, personified as a divinity named !khwa, usually directs his anger against maidens who have violated menstrual taboos and the punishment usually consists in transforming the violatress (and her people) into frogs or snakes (see /X. 8–10). 1989, Bushman Folktales, page 101:
