  1. (Internet, uncountable) A form of cybersquatting that involves the registration of domain names likely to be mistyped by users.
    • The decline in traditional, direct cybersquatting was accompanied by a rise in a form of indirect cybersquatting known as typosquatting. A typosquatter attempts to cash in on the traffic generated by high-volume Web sites. 2014, Aaron Schwabach, Internet and the Law: Technology, Society, and Compromises, 2nd edition, ABC-CLIO, →ISBN, page 59:
    • It's a technique, a sort of "typosquatting," that Maly has used repeatedly.
