turn of duty en · NOUN
Meanings
-
A period of work in one's occupation, usually scheduled and lasting several hours.
Mr. Lancashire's last turn of duty was on June 18, 1935. He thus completed 35 years as a top-link express driver (probably an unequalled record) during which he covered some 1½ million miles.
