Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish تربه (türbe), from Arabic تُرْبَة (turba, “tomb”). Doublet of turbah.

Meanings

1. A small mausoleum built over the grave of a high-ranking or holy Muslim, especially under the Ottomans.
