Etymology

Genericized trademark of the brand name Tip Tops, originally made by the now defunct West Bromwich company Crystallized Confections.

Meanings

1. (UK, Wales, West-Midlands, countable, uncountable) Synonym of freeze pop, flavored ice or frozen fruit juice in a tube, particularly of the Tip Top brand but now also genericized.
   • To us, these are (and always have been) called 'cool pops'.
