Etymology

Either abbreviation of scientifantasy, or blend of stf (“scientifiction”) + fantasy.

Meanings

1. (dated, slang) The overall field of literature containing the genres of science fiction and fantasy fiction; imaginative fiction; speculative fiction.
   • The usual melange of serious articles on stfantasy and its personalities, copiously interspersed with advertising.
