saute + pan
Meanings
-
A piece of cookware that has straight sides and a large surface area, both of which are ideal for tasks like searing meat or reducing a pan sauce.
Although a cast-iron frying pan will brown food extremely well (and can serve if you don't want to buy a saute pan), a saute pan has higher, straighter sides and is available in large sizes.
