Meanings

1. A dance for couples with a whirling or revolving motion, such as the waltz or polka.
2. A repetitive, circular movement made by a foraging honey bee in process of communicating to other workers that it has located a significant and nearby food source.
   • The round dance is never performed on a comb on which there are none or only a few bees, but it always takes place in the midst of a dense throng. 1924 February, John H.
