From Late Latin quadrangulātus. By surface analysis, quadr- + angulate.

  1. (rare) Synonym of quadrangular.
    • In the mountains of eastern Mexico there is a striking form of Dasylirion that has a large, upright trunk and dense rosettes of long, thin leaves that are quadrangulate in cross section and more or less lack marginal leaf prickles. 1998 January–March, David J.
