Meanings

  1. (intransitive, slang) To leave a room or building with the expectation of returning soon.
  2. (intransitive) To appear on the screen as a temporary window or menu.

  3. To be retired after three strikes, including a popout (pop fly) on the third strike.
  4. (slang, transitive) To give birth.
    • So you think I should just stay home and pop out kids for the next twenty years?
  5. (of a joint, slang) To have (something) suddenly come out of its normal position, as in a dislocation or subluxation.
    • He popped out his shoulder during the fight.
  6. Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see pop, out.
