1. A hybrid between an alpaca and vicuna.
   • The pacovicuña yields wool equal in quality to that of the vicuna but greater in bulk. 1963, Owens, Ronald Jerome, Peru, page 141:
   • An adult male vicugna will never copulate with a female alpaca unless the first has been timely imprinted to a member of the second species. Therefore, the Peruvian native breeders use exclusively a vicuna previously reared from earliest age by an alpaca whenever they want to get the hybrid called ‘pacovicuna’. 1981, Hernando De Macedo, Note on Vicuna X Alpaca hybrids, page 1:
   • Paco-vicuñas are domesticated and are also found in the wild.
