Here, we have used a previously validated model of exposure to DEN [27 ] to address the effects of melatonin on HCC. Melatonin is known to present oncostatic properties by enhancing antioxidant systems and immune mechanisms, and modulating pathways that control cell cycle and cell growth [33 –35 ].
