From non- + pattern. Piecewise doublet of nonpatron.

Meanings

  1. Absence of pattern.
    • As opposed to the more strict requirements of non-repetition in nonpattern words such as those in (1), the term isogram can be construed more widely to capture the notion of any word in which each letter of the alphabet occurs exactly the same number of times (cf.
