Blend of nasal + palang (Malay, “crossbar”), styled after ampallang.

Meanings

1. A piercing that passes through both sides of the nose and the nasal septum.
   • The nasallang is another rare piercing made up of a pair of nostril piercings (one in each nostril) with a septum piercing at the same level in between the two. A single piece of jewelry, usually a barbell is worn connecting all three—although from an outsider's view it will simply appear as a pair of nostril piercings assuming that the barbell sits flush with the skin. 2007 August 30, Margo DeMello, “Nose Piercing”, in Encyclopedia of Body Adornment, Bloomsbury Publishing USA, →ISBN, page 206:
   • The nasallang builds off of the look and direction of the genital piercing known as the ampallang. This piercing combines nostril and septum piercings.
