Borrowed from Mandarin 饅頭／馒头 (mántou). Doublet of mandu, manju, and manti.

Meanings

1. Chinese steamed bun (without any filling)
   • He wished he had more of the mantous that they’d been given in Shanghai. His younger sister couldn’t stop remarking how delicious the Chinese breads were.
