A secluded area where people kiss, make out, or engage in sexual activity.
In our experience, "in private" when applied to homosexual acts means strictly in the confines of one's home or apartment. For heterosexual acts this interpretation of "in Private" is less stringent, as the existence of "lovers'-lanes" so well testifies.
