(archaic, slang) To hang around a person or place to suck up to them, to lobby them or to otherwise get special treatment.
We believe the dealer in building material is "legging around" after the architect, contractor and builder, with the same end in view that the publisher of the Clay-Worker has in "legging around" after him to get an order for advertising.
