  1. (intransitive) To spill or pour out, because of a leak.
    • Water leaked out onto the floor.
  2. (figuratively, intransitive) To be revealed (especially, of information intended to be kept secret).
    • The news of her pregnancy eventually leaked out to the press.
  3. (figuratively, transitive) To disclose secret information surreptitiously or anonymously.
