From Latin lāpsus memoriae (literally “slip of the memory”).

Meanings

1. (formal, uncommon) A slip of memory; an instance of forgetting.
   • ¹²⁰ On account of the mistake made in line 3 in the reference to the boar (Aetolicus instead of Erymanthius). Prescott (art. cit.
