From iso- + Ancient Greek δύναμις (dúnamis, “power”). Coined by Jack W. Reed in 1975.

Meanings

1. An isoline connecting places at which an equal amount of wind power is available near ground level on average.
   • Lockheed purposely avoided isodyns and chose to construct maps showing the estimated values of wind power for each station. 1979, “Synthesis of National Wind Energy Assessments”, in Dorothy J. De Renzo, editor, Wind Power: Recent Developments, page 59:
