Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek ὑπέρ (hupér) + ζεῦγμα (zeûgma, “yoke, bond”)

Meanings

1. (rhetoric, uncountable) A rhetorical figure in which each phrase or clause has its own verb. The opposite of zeugma.
