Etymology

From hyper- + tap. First attested in 2010, but in common usage only as of 2018. Coined by adult Tetris players to describe a technique used by Thor Aackerlund in a 1990 tournament.

Meanings

1. (intransitive) To use voluntary muscle tremors to rapidly press and depress a button.
