From hotel + -ize. Piecewise doublet of hospitalize.

Meanings

1. (ergative, transitive) To make into, or similar to, a hotel.
   • This, we believe was the first hospital to hotelize its rooms, and, quoting again from THE HOTEL MONTHLY (this from the issue of May 1924): "One of the great movements of today is the hotelizing of hospitals." 1937, John Willy, Hotel Monthly, volume 45, page 14:
