(informal) A nurse (healthcare practitioner) whose role is to greet and briefly assess incoming patients prior to treatment.
The job of a “hello nurse” is to meet a patient within five minutes of arrival—which they do, satisfying the relevant target. They then leave patients waiting for treatment for hours, which wasn't what the target intended.
