(transitive) To nourish or infuse something with green soil.
The committee reporting on fertilization agreed that in some overworked soils, exhausted of humus and of consequent lower temperature, the use of chemical fertilizers should be discontinued, and that the land be allowed to lie fallow or be green-soiled.
