(Africa, India) A member of a work gang; a laborer, often on railways.
Heavy snowfalls are prevalent in winter on the higher sections. Three rotary ploughs are stationed on the mountain length, and dozer-ploughs, scrapers, and several hundred extra gangmen are called in to assist when necessary.
