  1. The practice of menstruating without using menstrual products like pads or tampons; allowing the period blood to flow freely; often managed by wearing absorbent period underwear, using dark clothing to hide stains, or placing a towel down to catch leaks.
    • Free bleeding is exactly what it sounds like: it’s letting your period blood flow, instead of catching it with a tampon, pad or menstrual cup.
