(not-comparable) Describing the price of goods if they were purchased directly from a farm, without markup added by retailers; or this point in time, with regard to processes taking place earlier (such as fertilization) or later (such as packing and freezing).
It is important to note that the farmgate price can be quoted either in terms of seed cotton or lint.
