(countable, uncountable) Enlargement of lymph nodes, characterized by an inflammatory exudate and hyperplasia of reticuloendothelial cells due to phagocytosis of hemosiderin, melanin, and (possibly) fat.
Dermatopathic lymphadenitis occurs in lymph nodes draining areas in which there has been disruption or irritation of the skin barrier due to any process, benign or malignant.
