Meanings

An adhesive label designed to withstand very low temperatures, used for labeling biological samples and other materials stored in a cryogenic freezer.
Anonymity is preserved by using unique sample IDs for each participant: GS labels contain sample IDs in human-readable and barcode format, and are used on all tubes and paperwork linked to the participant, including cryotags suitable for freezing.
