From Ancient Greek βρῶμος (brômos, “foul-smelling”) + ῑ̔δρώς (hīdrṓs, “sweat”) + -ωσῐς (-ōsĭs, “condition”), a Neo-Classical compound meaning the condition of foul-smelling sweating.
