Meanings

1. A GPS receiver at known fixed location, used to derive correction information for nearby portable GPS receivers.
2. A radio receiver/transmitter that serves as the hub of the local wireless network, and may also be the gateway between a wired network and the wireless network.
   • Used from mobile network operators' (MNOs) usual base stations, these waves work well in open country, which gives passengers a decent service.
