Short for back announcement.

1. (informal) An announcement at the end of a broadcast item and relating back to that item.
   • Back annos may take a very simple form such as a name check of the last voice heard on the package and stations have been known to ban their use on the basis that anything in the radio text that looks back at what has been said is redundant communication. 2002, Pete Wilby, The Radio Handbook, page 136:
