(not-comparable) Relating to the archesporia, cells of the sporangium that give rise to spores.
However, nuclear events in meiotic cells are readily distinguishable from those in mitotic cells, and the developmental program of archesporial cells and meiocytes is independent of successive somatic cell development, at least for the progression into prophase I.
