Pinkett Smith has shared publicly that she has alopecia areata, addressing her and other patients’ experiences during her June 1 episode of “Red Table Talk,” her Facebook Watch show. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss on the scalp and elsewhere, according to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.
