(qualifier:crosswording) A cryptic crossword which includes an additional puzzle which must be solved using the completed grid or which transforms entries in the grid.
Advanced cryptic crosswords are found in weekend newspapers and some magazines, and the grids generally use bars rather than blocked grids (Friedlander and Fine, 2016).
