Blend of accountability + buddy, coined in the animated TV show South Park in the episode "Cartman Sucks", broadcast March 14, 2007.

Meanings

1. (informal) A person who agrees to hold a person accountable for persisting in an endeavor such as maintaining sobriety, diet, or exercise.
