Abbreviation of trans for trans. Popularized on the personals section of Craigslist in the early 2000s. Compare M4M, M4F, F4F, W4W, etc.

Meanings

1. (not-comparable) Of, pertaining to, or focused on relationships between trans people.
   • Gay chat rooms therefore evolved into m4m (men for men), T4T (trans for trans), bisexual chat, leather and bear, lipstick lesbian, etc. By the mid-90's, it wasn't unusual to see mm4mm groups (married men for married men) and other [even more] highly specific types of discussion groups. 2008, Kimeron N. 1. A T4T relationship.
   • I remember how I used to be before the contagion. Embarrassed to be seen with another trans woman, for fear that her transness would reveal my transness and we'd both get clocked.
