A period of warm weather in early November, around the feast day of Saint Martin of Tours on the 11th.
The results of tests with the Giesl ejector on a remarkably good general service locomotive like the "B.R.9" will be awaited with great interest, though so far as British Railways are concerned it would appear that the Giesl ejector has come upon the scene in what may be called the "St. Martin's Summer" of steam, and that its advantages may be utilised to no more than a limited extent.
