(countable, informal, qualifier:aesthetic, uncountable) The bright and vibrant visual aesthetic that defined many of Sega's classic arcade and console games from the late 1980s to the early 2000s, known to feature tropical beaches, lush green hills, or sweeping open horizons, and prioritizing high-saturation color palettes.
The spirit of Sega Blue Sky was strong with the Dreamcast and throughout its life it played host to some of the most original and creatively left of centre titles gamers had ever seen on a mainstream console. From the glorious colours of Jet Set Radio, Samba De Amigo and Space Channel Five to the synesthetic hallucinatory trip of Rez and the balls out weirdness of Seaman.
