Partial calque from Mandarin 珠穆朗瑪峰／珠穆朗玛峰 (Zhūmùlǎngmǎ Fēng); created by combining Qomolangma (“Tibetan Pinyin spelling of Tibetan ཇོ་མོ་གླང་མ (jo mo glang ma)”) and Mandarin 峰 (Fēng, “mountain, summit”).
