1. (dated, obsolete) A unit of volume corresponding to a cuboid with sides 4 inches by 3⅛ inches by 2⅜ inches, equal to 1.0065 US pints and used mainly for ice cream packaging.
   • All of these machines were designed to handle the No. 2 linerless carton, usually referred to as the Philadelphia pint, although it is maintained that ultimately attachments will be available for handling cartons of other shapes and sizes [1948, Paraffined carton research council, Chicago, Packaged Profits; New Trends in Ice Cream Production and Merchandising:
