The Bavarian holiday (Oktoberfest or Wiesn), or any such holiday, celebrated in late September to early October, typically featuring German music, cuisine, and beer-drinking as prominent activities.
Even though it is not yet October, the Hingham Lutheran Church held its annual Octoberfest today, complete with a full spread of German food and beer and an authentic Umpah band ("King Ludwig's German Band").
