Etymology
After Nesselrode pudding, which was adapted into variations such as Nesselrode pie or Nesselrode chiffon pie in 1950s United States, itself named after the Russian diplomat Karl Nesselrode (1780–1862), for whom the dish was said to have been invented by a French chef.
