(countable, uncountable) The system of logic and philosophy set forth by G. W. F. Hegel, which can be summed up by the dictum that "the rational alone is real", i.e. all reality is capable of being expressed in rational categories.
At the same time he was convinced of the complete immanent presence of God in history, and rejected whatever remained in Hegelianism of the notion of a personal God.
