A village on the Bay of Cruden in north-east Aberdeenshire council area, Scotland (OS grid ref NK0936).
By the 1890s, however, efforts were being made to popularise Port Errol ^([sic]) and Cruden Bay as seaside resorts, and on August 24, 1893, a branch was authorised from Ellon to Cruden Bay, and thence northwards to the fishing haven of Boddam.
