Relating to or suggesting Big Brother (unwarranted, invasive surveillance).
Juan Andreas explained that it was the local media, a microphone rigged up to some speakers. It played music, messages, news and advertising to the local people and there was no way that it could be switched off. It struck me as Big Brotherish but it was the sound rather than the content that was uncomfortable.
